Dream It. Dare It. Do It.
The joy and excitement of the inspirational stories on ABC-TV’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition can move one to tears on any given Sunday night. But on Jan. 11 (expected broadcast date), those tears of joy will be shed for a Special Olympics Illinois family from Pekin - Stephen Grys, his wife Jean, and five of their children (Zachary, 24, Joshua, 22, twins Abagail and Rebekah, 17, and Jake, 8).
2009 World Winter Games
Special Olympics Illinois will be represented at the 2009 World Winter Games by seven athletes and seven coaches/staff members. The Games will be Feb. 7-14 in Idaho, where about 3,000 athletes from 80 countries are expected to compete in seven sports: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, figure skating, floor hockey, snowboarding, snowshoeing and speed skating.
