If you saw Daniel Smrokowski, 19, at Summer Games you probably saw him with a camera in hand. When he wasn’t swimming, he was taking photos of his teammates from SEASPAR and other competitors. Daniel, of Westmont, has been interested in photography for the past 3-4 years, but when he got his Canon Rebel XTi in January, his interest kicked into high gear.

2008 Marks 40th Anniversary
This year, 2008, marks an amazing milestone — the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the first Special Olympics event. Illinois takes great pride in the history of this amazing global movement, having been the site of the first Games at Soldier Field and the home to some of the early true visionaries in the movement.
